In the name of Allah, MOST Gracious, Most Merciful.
"THOSE WHO DISBLIVE AMONG THE PEOPLE OF THE SCRIPTURE AND THE POLYTHEISTS" prefers to Idol and fire-worshippers among the Arabs and non- Arabs who
"WERE NOT TO BE PARTED[FROM MISBELIEF]." they where not to abandon disbelief until the truth becomes clear to them;
"UNTIL THERE CAME TO THEM CLEAR EVIDENCE." Al-Bayyinah refers to this QURAN as explained in the next Ayah.
"A MESSENGER FROM ALLAH, RECITING PURIFIED SCRIPTURES." It refers to Muhammad(PBUH) and the glorious Quran he is reciting, which has been inscribed, in the 'uppermost host,' in purified pages.
"WITHIN WHICH ARE CORRECT WRITINGS." Ibn Jarir commented on this Ayah saying, "The purified pages contain precious, honorable and upright Books."
"NOR DID THOSE WHO WERE GIVEN THE SCRIPTURE BECOME DIVIDED UNTIL AFTER THERE HAD COME TO THEM CLEAR EVIDENCE" However, after the clear proofs were sent to the Scripture, they split and differed among themselves as to what the intended meanings of their Books are.
"AND THEY WERE NOT COMMANDED EXCEPT TO WORSHIP ALLAH, [BEING] SINCERE TO HIM IN RELIGION." This part of ayah resembles another Ayah, "And we sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, 'there is deity except Me, so worship me.'"(Al- Anbiya 21:25) Here Allah described them as "inclining to truth" HUNAFA, i.e; turning from polytheism to monotheism; "AND TO ESTABLISH PRAYER" which is among the greatest physical forms of worship; "AND TO GIVE ZAKAH," zakah means showing benevolence to the poor and the needy; "AND THAT IS THE CORRECT RELIGION." This is the upright honorable faith.
"INDEED, THEY WHO DISBELIEVED AMONG THE PEOPLE OF THE SCRIPTURE AND THE POLYTHEISTS" Allah informs of the destiny that will befall the wretched disbelievers among the people of the Book and the polytheists on the Day of Resurrection; they
"WILL BE IN THE FIRE OF HELL, ABIDING ETERNALLY THEREIN," meaning there will remain there forever and will not be removed from the fire;
"THOSE ARE THE WORST CREATURE." They are the worst creation that Allah has created.
"INDEED, THEY WHO HAVE BELIEVE AND DONE RIGHTEOUS DEEDS- THOSE ARE THE BEST OF CREATURES," Allah mentions the situation of the righteous who believe in their hearts and acted with their limbs upon it, and that they are the best of the creation.
"THEIR REWARD WITH ALLAH[on the Day of Resurrection] WILL BE GARDENS OF PERPETUAL RESIDENCE BENEATH WHICH RIVERS FLOW, WHEREIN THEY WILL ABIDE FOREVER." there will be no breaks, no ending, and no pauses.
"ALLAH BEING PLEASED WITH THEM." The rank of attaining Allah's pleasure is far greater than the unending pleasure they will be given,
"AND THEY WITH THEM," meaning they are pleased with the comprehensive bounties He granted them.
"THAT IS FOR WHOEVER HAS FEARED HIS LORD." This reward is for those who fear Allah and Have true TAQWA i.e;piety
